Spotpal lets you share places you love with people you trust. This covers what the app keeps and why. Last updated 5 November 2026.
Your name, email and photo from Google or Apple sign-in. Your home city, handle and bio if you add them. The lists you import, your notes, photos and captions, your trips and dates, your pals, and who you follow or block. A device token, if you turn on notifications.
Your lists, notes and trips are for you and your pals. Guides are public, and only if you publish one. A city or trip link you share can be opened by anyone who has it. A list you share from Google Maps can be viewed by anyone with that link, under Google's rules.
We store Google place IDs and your own words. Place names, photos and hours come from Google Maps Platform when you look at them, under the Google Privacy Policy.
Used on your phone, only while the app is open, to sort places near you. We don't store it or share it.
Neon for our database and photo storage, in Frankfurt. Expo to deliver notifications. Google Gemini, to turn a voice note into a written plan and to read the atmosphere of photos you post at a place; voice notes are not kept after the plan is written. We don't sell your data and we don't show ads.
You can hide or delete any list, and delete your account in Settings. That removes your lists, notes, photos, guides and pal connections.
